Breakfast is included. Depart towards Merida, also known as, “The White City”. En route, stop and visit Tulum, the only Mayan city located next to the Caribbean Sea. Next, visit the archaeological site of Cobá, admiring constructions such as “The Castle” and its mural paintings depicting mythological scenes. Continue to Merida. Your evening is at leisure. DAY 3
Breakfast is included. Departure to Hacienda Sotuta de Peon, a live “hacienda” where sisal is still produced using machinery and techniques dating from the late 19th century. After a welcome drink, you will take a guided tour, learning the process to obtain this resistant fiber. Afterwards, you will visit a Mayan house as it existed in old times and an under ground cenote. Don’t forget your swimsuit. To complete the tour, you will visit a Sotuta Estate House. See in amazement how extravagantly the haciendado or estate owner lived during the henequen boom. Return to Merida where your evening is at leisure. OVERNIGHT AT El CASTELLANO 4* OR SIMILAR
DAY 4
Breakfast is included. Enjoy a City tour of “The White City”, discovering the most important attractions: Paseo Montejo, where the prosperity of the 19th century is evident with its mansions and buildings, the Cathedral, the Government Palace and many other historic sites. In the afternoon, you’ll depart for Uxmal. Enjoy the Light & Sound Show at the archeological zone. Dinner is included. You’ll arrive at your hotel in Uxmal with your evening at leisure. DAY 5 Breakfast is included. You will visit the archeological zone of Uxmal considered a world heritage site, a late classic Pucc style city with superb architecture.
