DAY 1
TRANSFER LIBERIA AIRPORT /MONTEVERDE.
After arrival at Liberia International
Airport, you will be met and transfered by bus to your hotel in Monteverde area. Enjoy a 2
hour adventurous drive through some of the most diversified country sides of Costa Rica.
Around noon, you arrive at Monteverde Cloud Forest for an afternoon of leisure. OVERNIGHT AT CLOUD FOREST LODGE OR SIMILAR
DAY 2
OPTIONAL TOUR.
Clients have a choice of one of the following tours: a. Sky Walk: The hanging bridges are a network of suspension bridges and trails built within the Monteverde cloud forest. It allows different observational levels to admire the flora and fauna starting at the forest ground and ending at the tree tops. b. Canopy Tour: This canopy tour at Monteverde area consists of approximately 900 acres of virgin tropical rainforest and cloud forest, which is extremely rich in its bio diversity. The tour starts with a short guided hike through the cloud forest and a spectacular climb up a rope ladder through the middle of a huge, hollow strangler fig. Dangling from an ingenious series of cables 22 meters off the ground, the three meters by 1.5 meters plywood floor is an unbeatable vantage point for observing the surrounding rainforest. DAY 3
TRANSFER TO ARENAL.
It is time to continue on your adventure. After breakfast you will be transfered by bus to the Arenal area. Enjoy a scenic 3 hour drive through coffee plantations, ornamental plants and incredible scenery. As we enter the area you will be amazed by the Arenal Volcano. Afternoon at leisure. DAY 4
ARENAL VOLCANO TOUR.
Morning at leisure. After lunch it is time to visit the Arenal Volcano, located at the center of the National Park. Active since 1968, the degree of activity varies from week to week; sometimes there is a spectacular display of flowing red hot lava and incandescent rocks flying through the air. DAY 5
ARENAL TO GUANACASTE.
Morning transfer from Arenal to Flamingo Beach in Guanacaste, to enjoy the magnificent beaches of Costa Rica (approx. 3 hour drive). Snorkeling, diving, fishing, fine restaurants and many more activities are available for the last days of your Eco Beach adventure. OVERNIGHT AT VILLAS SOL OR SIMILAR
DAY 6
SANTA CRUZ AND GUATIL ARTISANS TOUR.
Driving through small villages and cattle ranches, we’ll arrive at the town of Santa Cruz and its landmarks, such as the church and the town’s plaza. The town has been declared the folkloric City of Costa Rica. Here we will visit a cooperative of women who have specialized in traditional meals all prepared with corn, following the old recipes passed on by generation after generation and cooked on woodstoves. We will also visit the village of Guaitil, known for its lovely handcrafted pottery made as replicas of ancient ceremonial preColumbian objects. Artisans will show you the ancient manufacturing and coloring processes used in this pottery, crafted with the same techniques used hundreds of years ago by the ancient “Chorotegas”; techniques, which are still in use today!
